Each year our students complete a dissertation – a significant piece of research (10-15,000 words) on a topic of their choice to bring together their learning on the programme and follow their own interests. The completion of this research marks their degree with HONOURS, demonstrating that they can undertake an independent piece of research.

Each year the variety of research questions shows not only how our students make sense of current affairs or significant events that have dominated the news, public opinion and indeed our teaching in recent years but explore issues that their lecturers haven’t even thought of or mentioned only in passing (e.g. peace walls…).
